Companies of all sizes have partnered with Carolina Raptor Center as their way of giving back to the community. Corporate sponsors may contribute in a number of ways:

Cash Donations  top

Many companies have joined Carolina Raptor Center's corporate sponsor program, designed to support environmental education programs in the public school system and medical care for the rehabilitation of injured raptors. Children engaged in these curriculum based programs learn about principles of science, art and culture.

Grants for Specific Programs  top

Some companies and foundations focus their support in specific areas. The Goodrich Environmental Education Scholarship underwrites CRC programs to financially challenged children in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system. In 2005, a grant from the George Patterson Family Fund supported the purchase of video equipment that will be used to create training videos for volunteers, rehabilitators and others interested in caring for injured raptors.

In-Kind Gifts  top

Gifts of service and materials provide over $100,000 in savings each year. Vans donated by Public Service Company of North Carolina (PSNC) and Piedmont Natural Gas provide transportation to hundreds of schools and exhibits each year. Insert picture of van. Medical supplies donated by Presbyterian Hospital/Novant Healthcare, Carolinas Medical Center, and Cardinal Healthcare enhance the care for injured patients. Fish from Food Lion and Duke Power Environmental services; as well as, rats and mice from anonymous donors are critical to supplying food to the 100 resident raptors and over 600 patients each year. Vulcan Materials has recently donated gravel that was spread on our trails by Deloitte employees during their Impact Days service project.

Employee Teambuilding Workdays  top

Many employers in the community bring groups to Carolina Raptor Center to participate in workdays. The projects vary considerably based on employee skills and resources. Contact Louise Bhavnani, Director of Volunteer Services, if you are interested in a company teambuilding workday.
